This beautiful old house was built in the early 1800’s for a German family who moved to the united states in the late 1700’s eventually settling in South Carolina. The house was supposedly built around 1820-1825. The family farmed cotton, sweet potatoes and timber as well as other crops. Its isolated location protected it during the civil war and out of Sherman’s march to sea. Sadly now it seems the land is being developed all around, the fate and future of this house seems uncertain if it will be saved or torn down. Hopefully it ends up saved, glad I could document this historic old house. Thanks for watching! Like and leave a comment below if you enjoyed! Thank you.
