Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (also known as Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning) is a 1985 American psychological slasher film directed by Danny Steinmann and starring Melanie Kinnaman, John Shepherd, and Shavar Ross. It is the fifth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise. Set years after the events of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, the story follows a teenage Tommy Jarvis (Shepherd), who is institutionalized at a halfway house near Crystal Lake because of nightmares of mass murderer Jason Voorhees, whom he killed as a child. Tommy must face his fears when a new hockey mask wearing murderer initiates another violent killing spree in the area.

A New Beginning features a high number of on-screen murders. Aside from its gore and violence, the film has also become known for its explicit nudity, sex scenes, and numerous depictions of illicit drug use. Peter Bracke's book Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th details that behind the scenes, the production was plagued with hardcore drug use. The film also features a cameo appearance from Corey Feldman, who portrayed Tommy Jarvis in the previous film.

Shot in California in 1984 on a budget of $2.2 million, A New Beginning was released theatrically on March 22, 1985, and grossed $22 million at the U.S. box office. The film was initially going to set up a new trilogy of films with a different villain for the series but, after a disappointing reception from fans and a steep decline in box-office receipts from Part III and The Final Chapter, Jason Voorhees was brought back for the next installment Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) and has been the main antagonist in the series since. In addition to weak box office returns, the film received mostly negative reviews from critics.

Despite the title of the movie, production for the series continued to remain in California in various locations around the Los Angeles area. As opposed to the other entries in the franchise, a chunk of the action was shot in the middle of an urban area, albeit in the idyllic Franklin Canyon Park, which is tucked inside the Beverly Hills portion of the Santa Monica Mountains. The Pineway Halfway House where Tommy Jarvis is institutionalized is a privately-owned property called "Rancho Rosito", located in Camarillo, California. Corey Feldman was too busy shooting The Goonies to appear on set, so the crew traveled to his backyard for his cameo in the opening scene.

Let's see where the classic movie BLADE was filmed and how some locations have changed and how others look like they did in the movie.

Filmed in concert in Washington, D.C., in rehearsal in his recording studio, in a service at his Memphis church, and in an extended interview, Green reveals himself to be an electrifying performer, whether singing love songs to women or spiritual ones to God.

A brilliant but emotionally guarded American student arrives in Oxford, focused solely on attaining her PhD.

I travelled to croatia and visited many game of thrones filming locations in 2024 early december. Best timing as there were no crowds.

On April 5, 1994, Mann was reported to have abandoned his earlier plan to shoot a biopic of James Dean in favor of directing Heat, producing it with Art Linson. The film was marketed as the first on-screen appearance of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro together in the same scene – both actors had previously starred in The Godfather Part II, but owing to the film's double story structure, they were never seen in the same scene. Pacino and De Niro were Mann's first choices for the roles of Hanna and McCauley, respectively, and they both immediately agreed to act.

Mann assigned Janice Polley, a former collaborator on The Last of the Mohicans, as the film's location manager. Scouting locations lasted from August to December 1994. Mann requested locations that had not appeared on film before, in which Polley was successful – fewer than 10 of the 85 filming locations were previously used. The most challenging shooting location proved to be Los Angeles International Airport, with the film crew almost missing out due to a threat to the airport by the Unabomber. On the DVD commentary, Mann noted it would be impossible to film the airport climax in the same way following the events of 9/11.

To make the long shootout more realistic they hired British ex-Special Air Service sergeant Andy McNab as a technical weapons trainer and adviser. He designed a weapons training curriculum to train the actors for three months using live ammunition before shooting with blanks for the actual take and worked with training them for the bank robbery.

De Niro was the first cast member to receive the film script, showing it to Pacino, who also wanted to be a part of the film. De Niro believed Heat was a "very good story, had a particular feel to it, a reality and authenticity. In 2016, Pacino revealed that he viewed his character as having been under the influence of cocaine throughout the whole film.

In order to prepare the actors for the roles of McCauley's crew, Mann took Kilmer, Sizemore, and De Niro to Folsom State Prison to interview actual career criminals. While researching her role, Judd met several former prostitutes who became housewives.

Initially, Keanu Reeves was offered the role of Chris Shiherlis, which he turned down in favor of playing Hamlet at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. As a result, Val Kilmer was given the role.

Prior to being cast as Ralph, Berkeley played Waingro in L.A. Takedown.

Principal photography for Heat lasted 107 days during the summer of 1995.
All of the shooting was done on location, due to Mann's decision not to use a soundstage.

What up people. This clip is from my Sydney, Australia show. We were told that there’s one group of people in Australia that no one makes jokes about, aboriginals. They’re the indigenous people of Australia. Now I don’t think it would be fair if I went all the way to Oz and made fun of everyone except them... INDULGE!

STORY
Atop a hill in France, we stumbled upon an unusual house that looked like something out of a witch's storybook.
Upon further investigation, we discovered that this house once belonged to the Sers family from France. It was constructed in the early 1900s by Mr. Sers as a residence for his wife and five children. After his passing, his daughter Bernadette transformed it into her creative retreat where she painted all of her masterpieces.
A few times each year, Bernadette traveled from Paris to this hidden house in the middle of nowhere to focus on her artistic pursuits. As the years went by, she gained a reputation as a renowned artist, her paintings were displayed in galleries all over France.
The house is overflowing with the artworks she created throughout her lifetime. Each room, each corner, holds a new chapter of her life story, told through her creations.
It's clear that she didn't come here alone; there are remnants of her husband and children scattered about. The reason for their absence and refusal to claim their belongings remains a mystery to us.
Sadly, Bernadette left this world at the young age of 71.
Join us on this journey as we bid farewell to this incredible woman and her enchanting witch house.
