Located on Mount Victoria, there are numerous scene locations, including the 'Hobbit Hideaway,' and 'Frodo's Reading Tree.' A 2hr road trip out of Wellington brings you to Putangirua Pinnacles where they filmed the Paths of the Dead and lastly, Red Rocks is where Frodo, Gollum and Samwise reach the Black Gate.
