During a Stephen King-themed filming location road trip in July 2020 through California and parts of Nevada, I photographed a few filming location sites of the 1990 film "Misery" starring Kathy Bates and James Caan. While driving near Truckee, California and Donner Lake, the Donner Pass Road was closed to traffic; so I was unable to get actual photographs of part of Paul Sheldon's snowy drive from the beginning of the movie. I did do lots of research online and searching Google Street View to find the right spots, so I included the street view photos.



There aren't many sites because a lot of production took place on sound stages at Hollywood Center Studios, which is now called Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Los Angeles. I included a photo from my trip to LA in February 2017.



I hope you enjoy the few sites I was able to match to the film. If anyone has an idea of where they filmed scenes of the Silver Creek Lodge and the library where Buster found article on Annie Wilkes, please comment below. I would like to find the rest of the locations if possible.

In 1963, Hollywood director John Sturges released The Great Escape, one of the most popular and suspenseful wartime movies.

A firm favourite British Christmas movie, the legendary performances by Richard Attenborough, Donald Pleasence, James Garner, Charles Bronson, James Coburn and the one and only Steve McQueen never fail to bring a family together to enjoy this classic tale.

Most of the exterior scenes were filmed in and around the small Bavarian town of Füssen in the Allgäu region.

Covering 23 filming locations from The Great Escape, this will take you to all the famous locations used in the making of the film and show you what remains and what has changed in the 60 years since its release!

The Great Escape was loosely based upon the real escape attempt from Stalgluft III in Poland on the night of the 24th March 1944. It is to those who undertook this audacious escape attempt and all those Prisoners of War who suffered during WW2.

So after close to three decades of film location hunting I was finally convinced to make the pilgrimage out to Morristown, Tennessee to visit the original Sam Raimi classic, The Evil Dead. Super fan & Evil Dead expert Travis Mangold joins me on my adventure and I have to admit this was one of the coolest locations I have ever visited. The On the Buses Database takes you on a trip into its vast vaults of filming locations. Take a tour of the filming locations that featured in the first On the Buses spin-off film taking you from Borehamwood to Shenley and South Mimms to St Albans.

This video is about Grease...but I guess you read the title and you know that already. After visiting every other Grease filming location this was the one that had eluded me for years and I was finally able to get inside and film locations from some of the most iconic scenes from the movie. Born to Hand Jive, Greased Lightning, the bonfire scenes and more were all shot here. Grease is a 1978 American musical romantic comedy film based on the 1971 musical of the same name by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Written by Bronte Woodard and directed by Randal Kleiser in his theatrical feature film debut, the film depicts the lives of greaser Danny Zuko and Australian transfer student Sandy Olsson who develop an attraction for each other. The film stars John Travolta as Danny, Olivia Newton-John as Sandy, and Stockard Channing as Betty Rizzo, the leader of the Pink Ladies.

The exterior Rydell scenes, including the basketball, baseball and track segments, were shot at Venice High School in Venice, California, while the Rydell interiors, including the high school dance, were filmed at Huntington Park High School.

When Jack, a groomsman, leaves for his best friend's wedding several states away, he's asked to pick up Samantha, a stranded bridesmaid. Jack discovers they've met before and have had a less than friendly past.
