Summer Rental is a 1985 American comedy film directed by Carl Reiner and starring John Candy and Richard Crenna. The film's screenplay was written by Mark Reisman and Jeremy Stevens. An original music score was composed for the film by Alan Silvestri. The film was released on August 9, 1985, by Paramount Pictures.

Filming took around nine weeks, from March 18 to May 15, 1985, with principal photography starting in St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach, Florida, on March 18 for seven weeks before moving to Atlanta.

Beyond the Backlot is a show about iconic movies and their locations. We take you on journeys to the very places where some of your favorite movies were filmed, the stories of what happened there, and what they look like today. These are adventures you don't want to miss.

We slept in! -- Home Alone Filming Locations 30 years later!

Home Alone is THE Christmas movie of a generation. Right after Thanksgiving, this Chris Columbus-directed film is on repeat, and for good reason. Although there are plenty of funny, slapstick scenes with Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) and the wicked Wet Bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern), this movie hits on what the true meaning of Christmas is: love and family. You can't help but feel good (and fully entertained) at the end.

The Beyond the Backlot crew heads to the Chicagoland area (Winnetka, Wilmette, and Oak Park) to track down some of these iconic, memorable filming locations -- and fulfill last year's @BeyondtheBacklot Location Scout episode -- a true then and now filming locations adventure. As John Hughes normally did, he canvassed the north shore suburbs of Chicago to find the perfect home, neighborhood, and community for his timeless Christmas classic. It was an honor to walk in the footsteps of John Hughes' most commercially-successful film of his brilliant career.

In today’s episode we take a look inside an abandoned mansion that was last owned by a drug dealer. From the outside looking in you would think a wonderful family lived here with their kids and dogs.. but the man of the house had a drug addiction for xanex, oxycodon, and even fentanyl.. and apparently even sold some of his own to make extra money…In 2018 there was a domestic dispute and police surrounded the home in what became a 7 hour standoff with the 50 year old man. Police threw bombs filled with chemical agents inside the house causing him to surrender. He was then arrested for aggravated assault and the house was left abandoned with everything still left inside.

Im sure you’ve heard of the term love at first site. for jack and Deborah that was their life. They were soul mates living life to fullest together. Jack who a man on honor and integrity and fought for our country and for his family. He and Deborah ended up being married for over 60 years traveling the world, and raising their children. When they grew older Jack had fallen asleep one night only to not wake up the next morning, his wife was very distraught at the loss of her best friend. But even though she was in so much emotional pain she fought through for another 2 years by herself and in 2014 she laid in the same bed where jack took his last breath and went on to be with him again. 6 year old Deshaun was one of 4 children living in the home with his parents Elizabeth Archibeque and Anthony Martinez. He was found deceased on March 2nd 2020 due to his parents refusing to give him food and using diet pills to curb her children's appetite. On top of that, he and his brother who was a year older than he was were being locked away in a closet for extended periods of time. Eventually detectives learned, the two young brothers were stealing food at night because they were so hungry and the treatment they were receiving was a tactic to stop them from doing that in the future.

This is the concluding video for my 6 Part Filming Locations Tour. You will see Coney Island, the historic place they call home. Here, the very spot of the famous "Come Out to Play!" scene will be on display. You will also see Union Station. Where the Warriors rendezvous and face off with the Punks.
