Isolated in the pure serenity of rural France, an abandoned house stands spellbinding and mysterious. Once a joyful home to Mrs. Hélène and her family, it has become a haunting tableau of yesteryears since they vanished without a trace in 2017.
Once these dark rooms were filled with the laughter and love of Hélène, her husband, and their children, including a daughter named Patricia.
The family enjoyed collecting various items and richly decorated every inch of space: from a giant collection of figurines, possibly hand-made by Hélène, who had a passion for sewing, to all kinds of mementos. In the blossom of their life, they loved to go on trips with their camper van across their beautiful country. Yet, everything stands eerily silent now. It is a bizarre sight. Family photos, rooms filled with decorations, and valuables remain untouched, making it hard to believe this former home is even abandoned in the first place. Nature has slowly begun to reclaim the home, adding to its enigmatic charm.

This beautiful old farm house was built in the mid 1800βs around 1850-1856, in a small once thriving community in the early twentieth century. Built for a modestly wealthy agrarian family who farmed cotton, timber, and other crops. In the early 1900βs the house was expanded in the back and given a large wraparound porch in the front. Over the years the house had subsequent updates and remodels over the years but still retains much of its original character. Apparently a man was attempting a restoration in the 1990βs but passed away before could finish. Now this old destitute relic of days gone by sits shelled and lonely, rotting in its copse of trees along the road, brooding on the passing world. Hope you enjoy. It's not often that I come across such a spectacular abandoned farmhouse to explore. Built-in 1876, this home has stood the test of time for the last 147 years. Sitting on 8.5 acres of land and featuring beautiful gingerbread decorations, dormers, stunning woodwork, and a beautiful porch, it's been abandoned for 4 years. The home hosted grand garden parties with attendance reaching over 5000 people, and in 1891 the lush lawns, gardens and orchards were illuminated with electric arc lights which happened to be one of the earliest uses of electricity in the Township. In 2019 the property sold for 14 million dollars as vacant land zoned for commercial use. While the house has heritage designation, it still seems like they want it demolished to make way for new businesses. With the surrounding area already under heavy redevelopment, it's only a matter of time until this amazing piece of history is lost forever unless the city steps in to properly protect it.

This abandoned barn was converted into living space and I was told it was a former bikers clubhouse. It included 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large bar, a commercial kitchen and a lounge area. It also had a few outbuildings and trailers for guests. It was later sold to a religious group to use as a religious retreat. It has been abandoned since 2007.

This beautiful old house was built in the early 1800βs for a German family who moved to the united states in the late 1700βs eventually settling in South Carolina. The house was supposedly built around 1820-1825. The family farmed cotton,sweet potatoes and timber as well as other crops. Its isolated location protected it during the civil war and out of Shermanβs march to sea. Sadly now it seems the land is being developed all around, the fate and future of this house seems uncertain if it will be saved or torn down. This stunning second Empire house was supposedly built around the mid 1800βs sometime after the civil war for Western Dime Novel Author Ned Buntline. The man lived a very fascinating life supposedly meeting Wyatt Earp and some of the most famous names of the Wild West. I would encourage you to google Ned Buntline if this interests you because the man lived a very interesting life and I couldnβt possibly sum up all the strange and bizarre stories Iβve read about the author. He moved into this house with his fourth wife around 1871 and would live in this home until his death in 1886. He would name the house Eagles Nest after seeing two eagles nearby nesting in a tree on the property is the rumor. The house passed through multiple owners after Ned, sadly the house would end up vacant most of the later half of the 20th century only being used for storage. I spoke with a man who collects the maple syrup from the trees all around the property, and he said he made an offer to buy the house 30 years ago but was told itβs in to bad of shape, now 30 years later and the house is completely collapsed in the center of the mansard roof. (If you were curious what the blue hoses on the trees around the house, itβs maple trees and syrup being collected) big thanks to the neighbor for chatting with me and explaining about the maple syrup. This old Australian relic is a perfect example of how time and nature take its toll of the farm houses that were built from around 1870-1900 here in our the hot dry State of South Australia.
There are mixed clues inside that suggest this home could be last lived in as far back as the 40`s. There are a few beautiful old items still inside that show the natural decay relevant to the home which is amazing. There are also old pieces of machinery outside that remind us just how basic and hard old farm life was back in the day. I enjoy these old trips back in time and if the walls could talk we could learn so much more. :-)
Im sure youβve heard of the term love at first site. for jack and Deborah that was their life. They were soul mates living life to fullest together. Jack who a man on honor and integrity and fought for our country and for his family. He and Deborah ended up being married for over 60 years traveling the world, and raising their children. When they grew older Jack had fallen asleep one night only to not wake up the next morning, his wife was very distraught at the loss of her best friend. But even though she was in so much emotional pain she fought through for another 2 years by herself and in 2014 she laid in the same bed where jack took his last breath and went on to be with him again. Their home is now frozen in time left with many memories of their life together. So join me today and letβs see whatβs left.
