Hollywood's Hallowed Grounds: Episode 1 — Dazed and Confused (1993). So, if you are familiar with my Horror's Hallowed Grounds episodes this is something a little different. Obviously, Dazed and Confused isn't a horror film so I am presenting this under the Hollywood's Hallowed Grounds banner because either way it's still HHG. baby! I threw this together from random footage and photographs I had shot from multiple visits to the filming locations of the movie Dazed and Confused starting back in 2004. This was stuff I shot for fun and NEVER intended them to be used in an episode but while I'm stuck at home during the Corona Virus Quarantine this sounded like a fun project to try and put together on my own. The quality here and there is a bit lacking but I enjoyed piecing this together. In this video I visited two filming locations in Kauai, Hawaii. The first was Kalalea Mountain which was used in Raiders of the Lost Ark during the opening scene. The mountain was used as the backdrop soon after the Paramount logo dissolved.

The second location was Jurassic Park Falls which was seen in the first Jurassic Park film when the helicopter first landed on Isla Nublar. (Link below for helicopter tour)

This is a video about the Dearly Departed Tour I took while in Hollywood in July 2010. Dearly Departed is famous for its tour around infamous places where Hollywood crime and drama took place, but this tour centers on movie filming locations. Our driver was not the famous Scott Micheals, but rather Brian Donnelly, who did an excellent job of telling us stories about these now-famous locales. Unfortunately, I left my storage card in my computer at the hotel, so I had to take the photos with my Blackberry. It was either that or nothing. So the photo quality is not what I like, but it is what it is.

Saturday Night Fever movie locations part 3 from the show " Hollywood Was Here"

Ireland and its beautiful vistas make for a fantastic backdrop for famous movies. And on this trip to Ireland we visit some of our favorite movies and their extraordinary filming locations. We start off our filming location hunt at one of Irelands #1 tourist attractions, The Cliffs of Moher are stunning and can be seen in the movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but my family is most familiar with them as The Cliffs of Insanity in one of our favorite films, The Princess Bride.

Next on our list we head East to a different shoreline. We go to
Ballinesker Beach, Ballinruan, Curracloe, Co. Wexford, Ireland. Currocloe Beach also called Ballinesker Beach was were Steven Spielberg shot Saving Private Ryan. Curracloe Beach stood in as Omaha Beach from the Invasion of Normandy. In fact a nearby restaurant named itself Omaha Beach Restaurant as a nod to the making of the movie. Steven Spielberg chose not to shoot in Normandy for moral issues. Curracloe Beach is a beautiful stretch of soft sand with huge grassy sand dunes.

We then head to Dublin, Ireland to Grafton Street. Grafton St is one of Europe's best shopping streets. This pedestrian only street is full of cafes, shops and musicians who serenade lucky passerbys. In the movie Once, a vacuum repair man moonlights as a musician on Grafton Street.

P.S. I Love You, Gerry and Holly meet along the Sally Gap.

In Ron Howards, Far and Away. Event the American filming locations are in Ireland. The scenes that are Boston are really the alley way behind the Guinness Factory.

The most sought after filming location in Ireland is also the hardest one to get to...Skellig Island. Skellig Island is only allowed 180 visitors a day, you must book your ferry ticket far in advance, tours are often canceled due to poor boating conditions and the reason we did not go, they don't take kids under 12 because of the many steps and rough waters. Skellig Island is in Star Wars The Force Awakens.
We do drive the Ring of Kerry to see Skellig from land from the Cliffs of Kerry. While we are there, we can also see Lemon Rock that also appears in Harry Potter and the Half Blood-Prince.

Inside the Universal World, we get to see Jurrasic World, Harry Potter World and also the sets of Mr. Bean, Fast and Furious and much more!
