Colonial Street, located within the Universal Studios Lot in Universal City, California, is a historic backlot street set that has been used for over six decades of film and television production.
Colonial Street Overview:
Delta House (BLDG #1): Serving as the backdrop for productions like "The Desperate Hours" (1955), "Lucas Tanner" (1974-75), "Delta House" (1979), and "The 'Burbs" (1989), this building has been a constant since 1950. In the "Desperate Housewives" world, it was home to Ida Greenberg, Karen McCluskey, and later, Mitzi Kinsky at 4347 Wisteria Lane.
Allison Home (BLDG #2): Present since 1946, this home has appeared in films and shows, including "So Goes My Love" (1946), "Harvey" (1950), "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" (1966), and "Mockingbird Lane" (2012). On "Desperate Housewives," Gabrielle and Carlos Solis reside at 4349 Wisteria Lane.
Munster Home (BLDG #3): Since 1946, this location has been featured in "So Goes My Love" (1946), "The Munsters" (1964-1966), and "The 'Burbs" (1989). On "Desperate Housewives" housed the Mullin family, Betty Applewhite, Alma Hodge, and the Hunter/McDermott family at 4351 Wisteria Lane.
Johnson Home (BLDG #4): A fixture since 1955, it's been part of "All That Heaven Allows," "Marcus Welby, M.D.," "The Hardy Boys," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and more. On "Desperate Housewives," it was Susan Mayer and Paul Young's address at 4353 Wisteria Lane.
Dana Home (BLDG #5): Since 1941, this building has been used in "Nice Girl?" (1941), "Bedtime for Bonzo" (1951), and "The 'Burbs" (1989). It became the Scavo family's home on "Desperate Housewives" at 4355 Wisteria Lane.
McCluskey Home (BLDG #6): From 2007, it has been seen in "The Little Rascals Save the Day" and "About a Boy." Karen McCluskey called it home on "Desperate Housewives" at 4358 Wisteria Lane.
Walter's House (BLDG #7): Featured in "The 'Burbs" (1989) and "About a Boy," it has been around since approximately 1987. It housed multiple families on "Desperate Housewives" at 4356 Wisteria Lane.
The Klopek House (BLDG #8): It has existed since around 1999 and has been featured in "The 'Burbs" and "Providence. " It was the Van de Kamp/Hodge family home on "Desperate Housewives" at 4354 Wisteria Lane, and it has undergone modifications since "The 'Burbs."
Leave It To Beaver House (BLDG #9): Since 1996, it has appeared in "Leave it to Beaver" and "Why Him?." The Young, Shepherd, and Bolen families lived here on "Desperate Housewives" at 4352 Wisteria Lane.
Cromwell Home (BLDG #10): Featured in "One Desire," "Dragnet," "Adam-12," and "The Car," it was the home of Martha Huber, Felicia Tilman, Alex Cominis, and Andrew Van de Kamp on "Desperate Housewives" at 4350 Wisteria Lane.
Drew House (BLDG #11): Since 1977, it has been part of "The Nancy Drew Mysteries" and "The 'Burbs." Rose Kemper resided here on "Desperate Housewives" at 4346 Wisteria Lane.
Corner House (BLDG #12): Since 1936, it's been featured in "Three Smart Girls," "The Chase," and "Matlock." Mona Clarke used it on "Desperate Housewives" to secure the street at 4346 Wisteria Lane.
Seven Gables House (BLDG #13): This set, part of the Universal Studios since 1940 and featured in "The House of the Seven Gables," had unknown occupants on "Desperate Housewives" at 4344 Wisteria Lane.
Colonial Mansion (BLDG #1): This exquisite set piece, active from 1927 to 2005, graced productions such as "Uncle Tom's Cabin" (1927), "Written on the Wind" (1956), and "Casper" (1995). It was not visible in "Desperate Housewives" until the second season when it was removed to make way for the showโs development. Subsequently, the site was converted into a park, a vacant lot that has been part of the show since its second season in 2005.
Church (BLDG #2): From 1964 to 2005, this church endpiece of Colonial Street contributed its facade to "The Munsters" (1964), "Murder, She Wrote" (1984), and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1999). It disappeared by the show's second season to accommodate expansion plans, paving the way for Edie Brittโs home construction, which has been featured from 2005 onwards at 4362 Wisteria Lane, housing Edie Britt and later Renee Perry.
School and Store Facades (BLDGS #3, 4, 5, 6): These facades were part of the lot until their removal before the second season of "Desperate Housewives" due to the expansion, leaving their specific histories and contributions to film and TV unknown.
Bubble House (Location unspecified): Emerging in the storyline of "Desperate Housewives" during its second season, this house has added to the narrative depth of Wisteria Lane, with its first notable appearance involving an unnamed woman and later Mr. Scully up until 2015.

In my first ever vlog, I will start off with a short tour of Corriganville park where the Spahn Ranch scene was filmed from the movie "Once upon a time in Hollywood". In 2019 the studio recreated Spahn Ranch at Corriganville for the scene in which Brad Pitt pays a visit to George Spahn.
The movie starred Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Sharon Tate was played by Margot Robbie, which was beautifully done.
Hope you enjoy!

VIDEO INFO
Cycling in Dubai has always been popular, but now that UAE Team Emirates have taken victory in the prestigious Tour de France, the sport could be about to reach fever pitch.
If you are a regular rider, just getting started or want to ride more, cycling at the Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop in Dubai is where you want to go, in my opinion.
In the shadows of the Burj Khalifa, and the skyline of Downtown Dubai in view for pretty much the entire loop you may well find yourself able to push yourself just a little harder.
The Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop is an inspiring location.
Before we get into the nitty gritty of how exactly you cycle the Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop, it would be remiss of me not to whole-heartedly congratulate UAE Team Emirates on their Tour de France victory this week.
Sloveniaโs Tadej Pogacar is the rider to have achieved the feet, becoming the second youngest Tour de France champion in history at the age of 21.
I suspect youโll be seeing a lot of him around Dubai in the coming weeks. His image has already been lit up on the Burj Khalifa, and rightly so.
The Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop is a converted camel track. It consists of three loops of varying distances from 4km to 8km and has everything you need for a brilliant ride.
The main loop weaves through some areas of the Meydan One construction site, but the stunning vistas towards Downtown Dubai will be all you need to take your mind away from construction in the foreground.
Itโs not construction all the way around however, most areas of the track are landscaped with trees, hedges, lawns and nicely appointed rest points with benches to be found at various intervals so you can take a breather.
For the most part the track is flat, with just a couple of underpasses to go through with a small decline and incline and the track itself is mostly smooth with just a few areas where youโll want to keep both hands on the handlebars!
There are well marked out signs with emergency contact numbers on them all the way around the route which is reassuring incase you have an accident.
For those early risers who want to set off before sunrise, or if you fancy an evening cycle when the sun has gone you are in luck. The loop is well floodlit and with lights on your bike, youโll be good to go.
Facilities wise, youโve got everything you need. A good sized car park, a cafรฉ, bike hire, changing facilities and the perfect location for the start and end of your cycle.
You can find full directions below.
For some extra motivation, as you start to become a little out of breath, all youโll need to do is look up at the Burj Khalifa, the main focus within the 2011 Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol movie starting Tom Cruise and remember a cycle is nothing compared to what Cruise did on the side of the tower!
And even though the Burj Khalifa is a bit of an obvious Hollywood movie shout out, donโt forget the Meydan bridge that youโll also pass on the loop.
The bridge is another feature in the Mission Impossible film. It was the location used for the end of the car chase when the sandstorm clears.
My tip, set off on a sunrise cycle, there is no better sight than seeing the sunlight catch the tower and work its way up as the sun rises.
Extra Tips:
For bike rental call: 050 240-6660
Make sure your bike is in good working order before setting off
Take bottled water with you
There isnโt much shade to be found on the track
Always keep to the right so that people can overtake on the left
How to get to the Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop:
From the E44 turn onto Meydan Road/D69 heading east.
At the roundabout take the second exit continuing on Meydan Rod/D69.
At the next roundabout take the first exit, it will be signposted โprivate accessโ but continue.
At the next roundabout come back on yourself
.
Take the first right at the signpost marked โcycle parkingโ.
Covid-19 :
Face masks must be worn in all public areas.
Once you are cycling face masks can be removed whilst exercising.

"Filming Locations" is a video segment produced as stall material for the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2007.
A filming location is a place where some or all of a film or television series is produced, in addition to or instead of using sets constructed on a movie studio backlot or soundstage. In filmmaking, a location is any place where a film crew will be filming actors and recording their dialog. A location where dialog is not recorded may be considered a second unit photography site. Filmmakers often choose to shoot on location because they believe that greater realism can be achieved in a "real" place; however, location shooting is often motivated by the film's budget. Many films shoot interior scenes on a sound stage and exterior scenes on location.
There are two main types of locations.
Location shooting is the practice of filming in an actual setting
Studio shoots in either a sound stage or back lot
Universal Studios Lot is a television and film studio complex located at 100 Universal City Plaza in Universal City, California, adjacent to the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. It is the site of Universal Pictures and is owned by Comcast through its wholly-owned subsidiary NBCUniversal. The lot officially opened the gates of Universal City on March 15, 1915. The lot began offering its modern studio tour in 1964, which eventually evolved into the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. Today the Universal Studios Lot is made up of 400 acres, which includes more than 30 sound stages, the Brokaw News Center and 165 other separate structures.
On March 15, 1915, Carl Laemmle opened Universal City Studios on a 230-acre ranch in the San Fernando Valley and called it "Universal City". The site later became known as Universal Studios Lot and Universal City was considered the first self-contained community dedicated to making films.
In 1950, Universal Studios Lot increased its overall size to 400 acres after Universal acquired additional land at the southern border of the studio. Music Corporation of America (MCA Inc.) bought the Universal Studios Lot in 1958. Universal then leased back its property from MCA until MCA and Universal merged in 1962.
Shortly after the MCAโUniversal Pictures merger, accountants suggested that a new tour in the studio commissary would increase profits. On July 15, 1964, the modern Universal Studios tour was established to include a series of dressing room walk-throughs, peeks at actual production, and later, staged events. This grew over the years into a full-blown theme park now known as Universal Studios Hollywood.
Over the next decades, numerous television shows and movies were filmed in Universal Studios Lot, notably at the Courthouse Square and Colonial Street sets. This includes Psycho (Paramount Pictures), Back to the Future (Universal Pictures), The Perfect Storm (Warner Bros.), War of the Worlds (Paramount Pictures/DreamWorks), Desperate Housewives (ABC), and The Good Place (NBC). Today, Universal Studios Lot is one of the largest full-service production facilities. It has continued to modernize and grow with plans to expand by adding additional soundstages and building facilities.
Since 2016, the NBC show American Ninja Warrior has filmed their Los Angeles city qualifiers and finals courses on the lot.
The Studio Tour is a public attraction both as a VIP and at the adjacent Universal Studios Hollywood theme park that offers visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the historic studio lot. The tour first opened in 1915 when Carl Laemmle invited visitors to see the studio in action. The Universal Tour was halted in the late 1920s and revived in 1964. Since then it has evolved through countless iterations, including new tour hosts, movie sets, and experiences.
