Today I will show you an abandoned estate in the woods once home to a man who ran a drug operation in the attic. The police caught on and the home was raided, Machine guns, 350,000 dollars worth of drugs, and his cars were seized.
Today you are coming with me on an exploration of an abandoned $5.5 million dollar mega mansion. It’s so bizarre to see how many of these giant homes are left behind in America only to be destroyed by elements, people, and developers. But behind every abandoned home is a unique story of someone’s life.
In today’s episode we are taking a trip down south to a massive abandoned mansion that was last owned by an art and antique dealer, the 10,000 square foot mansion dates all the way back to 1920 being built in a Mediterranean style. But what’s very unique about this place is that behind the main house is a horse shoe shaped structure that last served as luxurious condominiums. the family that lived here bought the mansion in the 1990s and ran their business from home, but in 2005 the man passed away due to an illness and his wife was unable to keep up with the mortgage. The bank eventually took over the property and ultimately left it abandoned with everything still inside. So join me today and let’s see what’s left.

Built in Colonial Style in 1938, this mansion would soon be home to a dark secret. Firefighters were called to the home when an alarm was going off inside because of the lack of oxygen in the air. When crews arrived, they had to call the hazmat team to even go inside. What they found was haunting, over 115 accounts of animal abuse, and animals living in horrible conditions. The parents both went to prison, and the home was surrendered to the police, and shuttered. Their only child was left behind, only about 12. Her life stripped from her, as she learns the dark truth of her family. She grew up to become an animal rights activist. Untouched by time and disruption for decades, this home has been naturally decaying since the family last left. Leaving meals on the table and everything left leaving a mystery in why this family vanished. The home itself is now a time capsule. In the fall of 2011 she was planning on attending Elon University for college, but not before spending her last summer at home in Massachusetts with her friends. But that all changed on July 3rd, 2011, when Nathaniel Fujita, her recent ex-boyfriend, str*ngled her to death in his garage. His motive? Their breakup. On March 7, 2013, he was found guilty and convicted of first-degree murder. Amidst this tragedy, Lauren’s parents have dedicated their lives to educating teenagers about the dangers of breakup violence and have traveled all around to promote their non-profit, The Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund, which seeks to bring awareness to breakup violence, and promote education surrounding the matter.
